Have you read the labels on the salad dressing in your refrigerator? Go find the ingredients inside them. Can you pronounce what you are eating? Are you familiar with the contents? If not, then you need some new dressing!
Recently, I have been on a journey towards “real food.” Real food contains:
-Ingredients that you can read
-Ingredients that you recognize as food
-Ingredients that your great, great grandparents would have recognized as food
-Ingredients that are produced in nature, not in a lab
I challenge you to read the ingredients in the food that you are consuming. If it does not qualify as “real food,” then try to find a substitute. Please remember that “real food” does not have to mean “tasteless food.” In fact, the real food that we eat is generally better tasting than most of the fake food that we used to enjoy because real food is very fresh and full of flavor! Do you accept the challenge?
So, let’s go ahead and make a substitution by going back to your salad dressing. Here is one of my favorite salad dressing recipes! Try it out and see what you think!
Strawberry Vinaigrette Dressing
1 cup strawberries, chopped
2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 drop of Young Living Basil Vitality oil
2 Tbsp. Young Living blue agave or raw honey
Place all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Chill and serve on fresh salad greens. Optional: top the salad with fresh chopped strawberries, chicken breast chunks, pecans, and feta cheese.
